What’s the best gift you would recommend for your students this holiday season?

If I could have a magical power – frost and snow would be my gift to everyone this holiday season! I would love to create the joyful castle-yard skating scene of the movie “Frozen” as Elsa did.

Hmm… Why?

Frost and snow creates a magical experience, it fosters creativity and inspires physical activities.

How do we better engender a healthy, happy, and productive school environment where both teachers and students can flourish?

In Cesis New Primary school case the KEY is WE.
WE are a team of students, parents and teachers.

We have been blessed with many challenges along the school building way – no time, no money, no recourses. So we had no choice, but work together and reevaluate what is really important in the environment where WE spend the longest part of our day. So: …

How can we maximize the value of art and music in education and how can it be blended with more traditional subjects (math, science, history, etc.)

So this time I would like to present the outcomes of how we are blending art with more traditional subjects:

The best example of teacher closing the gender gap in education.

When I look back to my childhood the only gender inequality I can remember is the fact that boys always got easier accepted in dance groups and choirs. Girls interest in those activities was much higher than boys interest, so to have a gender balance, demands for boys went high.

Līderis, nevis vadonis

Raksts publicēts žurnālā “IR” – irlv.lv/2016/2/24/lideris-nevis-vadonis

Arvien biežāk sarunas dažādās cilvēku grupās nonāk līdz izglītības tēmai. Pati joprojām mācos, esmu mamma, skolotāja, skolas direktore un risinu izglītības jautājumus diendienā, taču šīs sarunas ar citiem man ļauj ticēt, ka izglītība ir arī plašākas sabiedrības aktualitāte, ja ne prioritāte. …
